The horse industry has been a major part of Ocala's economy for many years.   
Ocala is in the center of Marion County, Florida, which is home to more than 
1000 horse farms and training centers.  Although the Thoroughbred industry 
is in the majority with 450 farms, nearly 50 different breeds are raised here.

Marion County is also host to HITS hunter/jumper competition in 
February and March.  This is one of my favorite places to take photos.
